...is the one who is even more misinterpreted than Luci. The only other male survivor from the early, original days, most men and women interpret his position as the puppet master behind the women, or as the Sultan of the Harem...the first assumption is pretty damn insulting to us all, but understandable given that all interactions with women are based upon 'who owns them' husband/boyfriend/dad/god... compared to that, the second idea is preferable, but as half the women in the community are lesbians, that falls down too. 'Are you the one who trained them ?', he was once asked... Beast is no longer in the band - of course, he is still in the community. His position as lead guitarist in a girlband who were constantly talking sexual politics and tearing their clothes off, was feeling more & more inappropriate to him - not that the rest of us gave a damn, and we all fought not to lose his on-stage presence after being together for so long. However, he felt that he had succeeded with his goals - his musicianship, having played in front of huge crowds screaming his name, recognition and respect, fan mail and groupies, etc. - every bedroom guitarist's dreams were ticked off his list. There always had been pressure from outsiders to have him gone - from those within the industry to photographers cutting him out of pics, but it was never an issue for us. However, there is no-one we can trust more to work in our interests, both now and forever, concerning the band or anything else, so there was a ready niche for him to occupy... Behind the scenes he is always there. He continues to produce the second album 'Psychic Attack', as he did with 'Motor Driven Bimbo' -and as regards production, it has always ever been only him and us, despite rumours or hopes to the contrary. Even though he's still here, we miss him.
